How the Score is Calculated
Our approach to evaluating positive media impact
The Score evaluates the positive presence of municipalities in the media, focusing only on the positive impact they generate. There are two main components:
1. Positive Impacts (base 100)
We calculate the total audience of positive mentions. The municipality with the highest positive audience gets 100 points, others proportionally.
2. Media with Positive Net Sentiment (base 100)
Number of media where positive mentions exceed negative ones. The municipality with the highest number of net positive media gets 100 points.
The maximum Score is 200, evaluating both reach (audience) and variety (media) of the positive coverage.
Additional Metrics
Front Page Hours (+)
Measures how long positive news stayed on the media front pages.
Protagonist (+)
Number of positive news where the municipality is the main focus.
Net Sentiment
Difference between the percentage of positive and negative mentions.
